draft will start Monday Feburary 6th at 6:00pm est. hope you have been doing your draft prepping if not you have the weekend ;D. we are full and have recieved payment from everyone so we are go. any questions please don't hesitate to ask. also don't forget to vote on the major league eligibility poll in the rules proposal and polls thread. it has been suggested to reduce the number of AB's to 130 instead of 150 to be eligible for the major league draft. remember all 32 roster spots have to be filled within your $260 salary cap. players must meet the eligibility requirements to be nominated as major leaguers unless they are foriegn players that are signed by a major league team. when the draft starts go to the Major League Draft thread to nominate your player. you have to have a nomination to place a bid on another player or your bids will be nullified please pay attention to this. to nominate a player in the subject line simply put the players name, position, team. on the message line simply put your bid please no other comments in the message line. if you would like to comment on a player start a new thread in the draft chat 2012 thread. ex: subject: Albert Pujols, 1B, Angels message: $1 i like the involvement we have had on the proboards hope it continues to the league and we have a great dynasty of owners for years to come. good luck everyone

Is Leonys Martin available in the majors draft? He was drafted from Cuba last year but played in the minors the last couple months of last year. According to the rules he is eligible for both drafts. What if a guy like him from Cuba has been in the minors for like 3 or 4 years, he would still be available in the major draft?

Leonys Martin will be eligible for the Minor League draft only. yes he is a foriegn player, but he has established himself in the system. he has minor league ab's and only 8 major league ab's thus making him only eligible for the minor league draft. players like Yu Darvish and Norichika Aoki are the players that this rule is in response to. they are drafted by a major league team but have not had the chance or ability to play in any major league or minor league games, thus making them eligible for either draft.

Ok that makes sense. I didn't even realize Martin had been called up for some ABs. According to the rules as long as the player has no major league ABs then he would still be eligible. It sounds like that's not the intention. So I recommend rewording the rules so it says "major OR minor league ABs".

I'm assuming Cespedes will be treated like Darvish, Aoki, Wada, etc. If he signs with a MLB team during the draft, which will most likely happen, he'll be eligible during the MLB auction.
