Tulow at $47, and I thought Votto and Cabrera were overpaid at $49 and $52, respectively

Lawrie and Strasburg, according to my predraft values.
Cargo may seem high, but I have him ranked at the same value as Kemp and Kemp went $5 higher.

What did Ducati pay for Carlos Santana? I thought it was a lot Paid $30. I have him ranked as the highest catcher with VMart out, and he has 1B eligibility. Seems like a fair price to me.

The hard part to get over is your paying 30 for a guy who will probably hit about .250. But there was more aggregious purchases so far.

Santana was way too high and all 1B went way too high. As a result, I have no 1b!

Yes, I was drunk when looking into said ball...

Diablos starting rotation, considering he spent 2/3 of his budget on 5 pitchers.

So far by my calculations... Lawrie 36 Strasburg 29 Hanley Ramirez 37
They could all earn these amounts but if you factor in risk, you're paying for the top of the upside.
Hosmer... is actually not too far off by my numbers. I had him at 26. A $6 premium for a man-crush isn't that bad. I overpaid about that much for Batista.

Oh yeah and Josh Hamilton could easily be a bust at 30 if he's back on the booger sugar.

One thing you did not offer up and you cannot quantify is a premium position player and age. Hanley and Lawrie at SS and 3bI

My other league is a 12 team AL only. In that one, position scarcity means your $1 3B might be a backup utility guy. In this league you can get a starting SS or 3B without paying $40. I wouldn't pay an extra $15 for a guy just because he plays infield.

Oh yeah and Josh Hamilton could easily be a bust at 30 if he's back on the booger sugar. I think he's more than discounted for that risk for a guy that's already won one MVP. But on the flip side he could end up suspended from the league if he goes into a downward spiral. it was a gamble I was clearly willing to make at 30 bucks.

Hamilton will probably be fine. The Rangers hired him a full time life coach.

I think you have to take some chances to win. No matter how much some people don't like to admit it, luck plays a huge role in deciding winners.

People always overpay for prospects/rookies. To put it a bit in perspective, in an earlier draft I was in (20 team, but lesser roster spots so generally equivalent), Hosmer went for $42. So $32 seems like a bargain. Still too much for my taste, but I don't think that was overpay by much. Lawrie went for $30. I was shocked by that, so that's why I put out Lawrie as my first opening player for bid. Strausburg went for $40. So $29 was a comparable bargain. Granted, all pitchers are generally going for much less in this league.
