I'm going to be fair and only pick players that I would have always taken regardless of the bet (assuming it works out as expected). I only had $14 coming into this draft, so I was expecting to roster 3 or 4 players for $4 or under. Although there is a chance that others may be targeting the same players and will end up outbidding me. We shall see.

I make plenty of trades - that's how I got Fernandez, Rizzo, Alonso, Bundy, Arcia, etc. I'm not giving away a year of minor league talent, I'm just putting my money in the lowest risk/biggest reward I can. I could also get 3 Courtney Hawkins instead and have as much or more risk, despite having more bodies. Why don't you spend more time worrying about how you value minor leaguers and less on how I do, since my valuations have no effect on the remainder of the auction. No, you tried the Courtney Hawkins route last year, remember? That didn't go so well. All I said was you like to finish drafts first and this was the sole reason why you did what you did. I don't think you thought you were going to create Watergate

I love you guys and this league btw. If anyone ever wins the lottery you have to buy everyone game and plane tickets to a game of your choosing. Mariners v. Brewers?

I get more entertainment and more baseball enjoyment out of this league and you guys than really anywhere else (sad but true and children do not count here). I know we banter and some people hate me and I have done some wacky things (last year's MIL draft 12 hour bullshit, dropping all my players as FAs in August), but it is all in fun and I hope you know I can take it almost as well as I can dish it.

BTW having a regular starting role has to be real, not a September audition for a few games. I'm sure a lot of players on bad teams can get a few games in September but that wouldn't qualify as a regular starting job.

Yes, I agree. Not just a Sept call-up.
And for the record, the Brewers may have the worst minor league system at the moment. It's either them or the Phillies.

Crap, now I'm going to have to be very careful who I nominate and when.

Oh, I know this..with the knockout combination of the ball team in Milwaukee, I can see the future is bright in Milwaukee!! Now this is the part where you tell me how stupid the Mariners were for signing the best 2B in baseball....

Yeah, the Angles are right there with the Phillies and Brewers as putrid systems. Also, I didn't say the M's were stupid for signing Cano, I just think it isn't going to help them win a championship without getting another high end bat. I honestly don't care how they spend their money and at the very least it let's future FA's strongly consider the M's.

I know you didn't say that Chad, though many GMS here in our league have intimated that. No harm done.

Ok Eric do you want to put Bryant against Roughned Odor, Joey Gallo, and Josie Pinto and see which is better through 2015?

why would you compare the #1 ranked prospect to 42/60 and someone not even in the top 100?

It's complicated. You'd have to read the other 100 posts.

LOL, probably not Pinto or Gallo, but Odor is a good place to start to 3 or 4 guys. Again, it is a future thing, way, way off. Your all done drafting Mike and I know you have your mind on other leagues and drafts so let's stop talking about Bryant now, clean slate

Well Mike, you may actually win our bet. Sex Panthers screwed me as I thought for sure I'd get Nick Kingham for $3 or less. He may not be very good and have some growing pains (initially), but I believe he'll be holding down an rotation spot by mid-2015.

I was surprised you got Renfroe for 3. A first round college hitter is a pretty good bet. Though I doubt he's a starter by next year its not impossible.

I was surprised as well, but I think you're right. I'd be surprised.

You must be right Mike, Padres OF lineup is jam packed with superstars. Sure they won't try to hurry along a college OF that they picked in the 1st round.
